Mother’s Day is a day to honor all women of valor. Some of us are mothers of physical children and many of us are also mothers of spiritual children. Mother’s Day is a time to be appreciated by those who love us by going out to eat, perhaps being served breakfast in bed, or even by getting beautiful flowers as tokens of love. In Numbers 13 and 14 we find a tragic example of how spiritual tunnel vision fueled by fear caused a whole nation to forget God’s power to deliver. Physically, tunnel vision is in fact a medical condition whereby the eyes cannot see the entire view of what is happening, but rather sight is restricted and narrowed.  It is as if one is looking through a tunnel and only seeing a very small part of the picture where there is no peripheral vision or perspective.
